GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Rugged alpine scenery, panoramic views, trails
for hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, picnicking and camping.
PARKING: 19 wheelchair accessible parking spaces.
TYPES OF PATHS: Gravel, natural surfaces and concrete with no steep
grades. Trails 200 feet long.
ENTRANCE TO VISITOR CENTER: Directly in front of visitor center. Ramps
provided. Entry doors, 36 inches wide, easily open out with stainless pull
handle located 34 inches above floor.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: In visitor center. Doors are 36 inches wide, and
open in. No turns to enter. Accessible stalls have 32 inch wide doors opening
out, and handrails. 19 inch toilet seat height, and 15 inches between commode
and wall. Sink height 31 inches. Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.
SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing impairments, there are amplified audio units.
For guests with mobility impairments, there is an accessible campsite,
next to one of the campground rest rooms, with accessible table and pedestal
type grill.
For guests with visual impairments, there are documents in large print
on non-glossy surface.
PICNIC AREAS: Next to Homestead area, and have 2 tables, 29 inches
high, for guests in wheelchairs. Aisles between the tables are 56 inches.
Paths to and within picnic areas are concrete. Covered shelters.
GIFT SHOP: Aisles 56 inches wide, counters are 30 inches to 6 feet
high. Clerks assist customers with special needs. Aisles clear of temporary
displays.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Accepted credit cards MC and V. Hours of operation:
8AM-5PM daily. Parking fee, $1 for day use and $2 for week-ends. Campground
fees $14 for campsite, $18 for campsite East and West with electric and water.
Campground check-in 8AM, check-out 4PM.
