The Executive Mansion is the oldest continuously occupied Governor’s residence in the U.S. It is both a Virginia and national landmark.

TYPES OF PATHS: City streets and sidewalks with low curb cuts. Some areas do have steep grades which would require assistance for persons in wheelchairs. Ramp provided.
ENTRANCE: East side of house. 5 exterior steps, 4-9 inches in height. Handrails, ramps provided. Entry doors, 35 inches wide, easily open in with antique handle located 38 inches above floor. Steps to second floor from lobby. Handrails.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: A project of the Old Dominion Chapter, National Railway Historical Society. Museum at the former Hull Street Station features steam, caboose, freight and passenger equipment.
PARKING: Located on original 1915 cobblestones, lanes are not marked. RV parking.

WHEELCHAIR RENTAL: Manual and motorized wheelchairs available on a first come basis. No reservations.

PROCEDURES FOR GUESTS IN WHEELCHAIRS TO RIDE ATTRACTIONS:
General procedures: See special guide for specific information on each ride’s procedures. Guests in wheelchairs should inform attendant prior to entering the attraction. Due to the popularity of front and back seats of roller coasters, guests in wheelchairs who enter through the exit may not ride in those seats unless a member of their party waits through the line. Please see guide book for restrictions on number of guests through the exit for each ride.
Procedure for transferring from wheelchair to ride attraction: When applicable, rides will be stopped to assure a safe transfer.

Attractions which are not considered safe for guests in wheelchairs or with mobility impairments: Symbols are posted next to the entrance of rides to indicate certain physical conditions which could be affected by that ride. Additional restrictions are listed in the guide book. Guests safety is an important priority. Management reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the eligibility of a rider.
PROCEDURES FOR GUESTS WITH MOBILITY OR VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS:
Persons with physical disabilities not using wheelchairs will be expected to wait their turn in line. Exceptions to this rule should be made in advance with park management.
PROCEDURES FOR GUESTS WITH ASSISTANCE DOGS:
Assistance dogs are allowed at most locations, but are not allowed on rides. Someone in the party must stay with the animal. A rest area and water are available for assistance dogs at the kennel; please see Guest Services to make arrangements.
PROCEDURES FOR GUESTS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENTS:
Hearing devices may be damaged by water on water rides and vibration on other rides. Guests should take precautions to protect such items.
